Dus Kahaniyan – Imagine a plate with 10 different varieties of food on it, but not messed up, offer you get is one or other will surely match your taste. Sanjay Gupta proved his good direction once again in most of them, Rohit Roy had a good start.This movie gives you feeling of reading “Chicken Soup for the Soul” short 2 page stories with moral and never try to link them with each other. So, definitely its 2 hrs of entertainment.In my personal chart,
1. Manoj Bajpai and Dia Mirza starred Zahir top the chart with all the elements like love, suspense and an amazing surprising ending. Dia Mirza is looking very nice, perfect for her. And Well acted by Manoj Bajpai.
2. Second position goes to 10 min short story “Stranger in the night”, acted by Neha Dhupia and Mahesh Manjrekar. Amazingly narrated story between religion riots and lust, to prove love still exist in this world.
3. Third position goes to the two legends like Shabana Azmi and Naseeruddin Shah. “Rice Plate” talking about racism and religion discrimination. Rohit Roy has done a great job here.
4. Fourth position in the chart is occupied by 3 movies –
4.1 Pooranmashi starring Amrita Singh, Minissha Lamba, Poornamashi is a story of a mother’s unconditional love for her daughter, who is engaged to get married soon. But the mother ends up being responsible for her daughter’s death.
4.2 Acted as the sweet dish on the plate is Gubbare starring Nana Patekar, Anita, Rohit Roy. A common love story read thousands of time in e-mails but still bring tears to everyone’s eye, makes one understand how precious is the time which we spend with our loved ones
4.3 Another one is Matrimony, taken from Zee TV famous serial Rishtey, starring Mandira Bedi, Arbaaz Khan and Sudhanshu Pandey, nice twist in the love story and is about how love makes a fool out of us.
5. Rise and Fall staring Sanjay Dutt and Suniel Shetty, this is story about 2 gangster and their childhood, both the stories are running in parallel, but is not directed that well, It’s the last part of the movie and is not able to leave that impact on the audience.
6. Last in the list are 3 stories which are pretty boring and unconvincing – Still can’t blame the whole movie for that 7 parts were good. Among these 2 “Sex on the beach” and “LoveDale” are ghost related. And third one is violent and unpredictable love story between two reckless, uncontrollable people. Not directed well.
